Title: ASL Content Creator
Contract
About the role
ASL Spring is looking for an ASL Content Creator to be the signer on camera in our new lesson videos and social content. You'll work directly with our team to plan what we make, then film it together in person. We handle the camera work, editing, and captioning, so you can focus on the signing and the teaching.
This is a good fit for someone fluent in ASL who is comfortable on camera and has ideas about how to make signing feel approachable to beginners. No video production experience needed.
Because filming happens in person, we're looking for someone based in Massachusetts who can travel to shoots.
What you'll do
Sign and present in lesson videos and short-form content for ASL Spring's social channels
Collaborate with the ASL Spring team on what to make, working from our curriculum and from ideas you bring
Attend in-person filming sessions on a regular schedule
Share the finished content and monitor comment sections
What we're looking for
Fluency in American Sign Language and written English
Comfort and presence on camera
Based in MA, RI or NH and able to travel to in-person filming sessions
Reliable availability for scheduled shoots
Nice to have
Credentials demonstrating ASL proficiency
Connection to and knowledge of Deaf culture and community
Experience teaching or tutoring ASL
Experience creating educational content
Deaf and hard of hearing applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation and deliverables
This role pays $40/hour averaging 5 hours per week, tied to the following monthly deliverables:
Two filming sessions per month, approximately four hours each, held in person in MA, RI or NH
10–12 finished pieces of content produced from those sessions (ASL Spring handles all editing and captioning)
Posting to Discord as content is published, plus up to 2 hours per week responding to student questions in the channel
One planning check-in per month with the ASL Spring team to map out upcoming content
