Celebrating Deaf History Month with ASL Spring

April is Deaf History Month, a time to honor the incredible contributions of Deaf pioneers, activists, and trailblazers who have shaped the strong and vibrant Deaf community we celebrate today. At ASL Spring, we believe that understanding Deaf history is essential to appreciating and preserving Deaf culture, language, and identity.

Our Commitment to Uplifting the Deaf Community

ASL Spring is dedicated to not only teaching ASL but also supporting the Deaf ecosystem through education, advocacy, and community contributions. This month, we are:

Sharing Deaf History Spotlights – Highlighting the stories of Deaf changemakers, including BIPOC Deaf leaders, who have made a lasting impact.
Donating to Camp Mark 7 – A Deaf camp in Old Forge, NY, that empowers Deaf youth through language-rich experiences and cultural connection.
Engaging Our Community – Encouraging conversations about Deaf history and culture across our Discord server and social media platforms.
